Löve 2D: Asteroids
I've made Asteroids (or variations thereof) more times than I can remember. It's my favourite of the old first generation arcade games I genuinely love both the beautiful vector graphics hardware and the graceful and satisfyingly solid control scheme. If I had a ton of money and space an original Asteroids arcade machine would be high up my list of things I'd like to own.

With all that in mind, maybe I should have made this one first.
I knew exactly what to do so I knocked this cover version out in a couple of days and took the rest of the month off. Not the diligent approach to learning that I'd hoped to embody through this process, in fact it made me reappraise the whole game a month thing and I'm going to be switching to make a start on an "original" idea I've had for a while (I'm thinking of it as desert golfing but a platform game).
I feel I should start building out something more complete if I want to carry on learning and this seems like an achievable idea, perhaps not within a month, but I think I'll have something I can play with, kick the tyres of, in that time span.
